President-elect Donald Trump has named Republican Senate staffer Olivia Trusty to serve as a Commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
The following statement can be attributed to David B. Dorwart, Chair, National Lifeline Association (NaLA):
“The National Lifeline Association (NaLA) congratulates Olivia Trusty on being nominated to serve as Commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). NaLA commends Trusty for her work in the Senate to ensure low-income households have affordable access to essential communication services through Lifeline and the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).
We hope that the Senate confirmation process for her will be swift so that work can begin on President Trump’s goal to ‘ensure every American has access to affordable and fast Internet.’”
