NaLA Statement on DOJ’s Enforcement Action Against Q Link

Telecommunications company Q Link Wireless pleaded guilty on Tuesday to committing fraud through the Lifeline federal government broadband subsidy program.

The following statement can be attributed to David B. Dorwart, Chairman of the National Lifeline Association (NaLA):

“The National Lifeline Association (NaLA) applauds the Department of Justice, the FCC’s Office of Inspector General, and other U.S. law enforcement agencies for their work in defending the Lifeline program from fraudulent conduct perpetrated by Q Link and its owner. NaLA condemns any fraud perpetrated on the Lifeline program. Any such activity threatens the important work of connecting low-income families. NaLA will continue to advocate for legislation, regulation, program administration, and industry best practices that protect the FCC’s low-income support programs from fraud.”
